Illustration is omnipresent as a language of mass communication, arguably an intrinsic cog of the mechanisms of commerce and a growth area in art & design education. It is also poorly defined and inadequately discussed.

This one-day symposium, hosted by Mokita and Pick Me Up, will examine the subject of illustration, challenge assumptions about the practice and root out its disciplinary ‘core’.
The aim of the day is ambitious, to propose a new definition of the subject, acknowledging its rich and substantial legacy and speculating on its potential dominance in the future visual experience.

Mokita calls on eminent practitioners, including Adrian Shaughnessy, Luke Best, James Jarvis and Simone Lia.
